MSCB multi-agency polices & procedures – resources for practitioners

The first point of reference for any child related policy or procedure query should be the Greater Manchester Safeguarding Partnership (GMSP) online procedures

To support these procedures, the MSCB have produced a number of multi-agency polices and procedures and these can be found under their subject heading in our resource hub; some of these are joint policies with the MSAB under the MSB branding.

GMSP multi-agency procedures

The GMSP procedures manual is produced and maintained in partnership with tri.x who have been commissioned to develop the procedures manual, and then keep it up to date, of over 200 local authorities, safeguarding boards, independent providers and national agencies.

The GMSP manual includes a Quick Guide (left hand menu) for an explanation of how the manual is structured, how to navigate the manual and how it will be kept up to date.

The manual is updated on a regular basis and you can register to be alerted to any changes by using the ‘Register for Updates’ button in the left hand menu.

Tri.x Briefings
Tri.x produces monthly briefing papers covering a broad range of social care issues aimed at keeping colleagues informed about government policy, changes in legislation and to enhance good practice – view these on their website

Legislation, Regulations and Standards
Tri.x have also created web-enabled versions of key government/national documents and have made these available as a free resource so you can access them online:

GM Policies Subgroup

The MSB has a representative on the GM Policies Subgroup – if there are any multi-agency policies that need to be developed or reviewed please contact the MSB Policy & Performance Officer on tele: 0161 234 3330 or at
